It’s over. There are all kinds of ideas and concepts that take place in WWE at any given time and some of them are more logical than others. Some of them are a lot more successful and influential than others, but others come and go almost at the drop of a hat. WWE has introduced several over the last few years but now one of them seems to have been dropped rather quickly.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: D’Oh! SmackDown Star’s Mistake Not Being Taken Well On Social Media
Back in 2020, WWE instituted the Brand To Brand Invitational, which was a rule designed to limit the amount of times that a wrestler from Monday Night Raw or SmackDown could appear on the other show. However, when Fightful Select asked about the rule, it was said that it was “effectively dead”. The idea has not been used or mentioned in several months, dating back to 2022. Both USA and FOX are said to have relaxed on insisting on separate roster. The Brand To Brand Invitational was described as being one of several ideas (Raw Dark, the Wild Card Rule etc) which was introduced to boost ratings and then quickly dropped.

Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised at this as I don’t think the rule has been mentioned even slightly in more than a year now. It is something that WWE came up with and then seemed to realize that they didn’t need. If nothing else, it is nice to not have anything so strict as it didn’t help things out that much. WWE has too much moving around at once for this to work well most of the time anyway, so getting rid of the rule is the best for everyone.
