The May 26, 2023 edition of Smackdown featured Austin Theory (c) retaining the WWE United States Championship against Sheamus with interference from Pretty Deadly, Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi defeating Bayley & IYO SKY of Damage CTRL, Cameron Grimes defeating Ashante “Thee” Adonis followed by Baron Corbin attacking him. Additionally, a tag team match was made for Night of Champions following a promo from Bianca Belair. Lastly, Kevin Owens (c) defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Night of Champions will take place the next day. LA Knight defeated Rick Boogs, AJ Styles defeated Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) and Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Jey Uso stood tall over Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. WWE Smackdown episode 5/26/2021 included a battle between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Cesaro, a Fatal 4-Way match for a chance to compete in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match, and a tag team match between Rey & Dominik Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.
