WWE Hall of Famer The Great Khali is set to make an appearance at the upcoming WWE Superstar Spectacle event. According to a report from PWInsider, Khali is expected to be involved in some capacity during the taping of the event, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 8 in Hyderabad, India.
Although details about Khali’s role have not been revealed, fans can look forward to seeing the former World Heavyweight Champion back in action. Khali left WWE in 2014 when his contract expired but has made a few special appearances since then. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year.
Khali’s last WWE match took place in April 2018 at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. He entered the 50-Man Royal Rumble Match as a surprise entrant but was quickly eliminated by Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman.
Following his departure from WWE, Khali launched the Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) promotion in India in 2015. He continues to run the promotion, which has produced talents such as current WWE star Shanky and former WWE talent Kavita Devi.
Superstar Spectacle is a special event that aims to celebrate the rich history and culture of India. In addition to Khali’s appearance, the event will feature a card full of exciting matches and appearances by top WWE superstars.
One of the marquee matches announced for Superstar Spectacle is a WWE Women’s World Title Match between Natalya and Rhea Ripley. Seth Rollins and John Cena will team up to take on Imperium, and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will face off against Indus Sher.
Other WWE stars scheduled to appear include Bron Breakker, Drew McIntyre, Matt Riddle, Jinder Mahal, and WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER. More matches and appearances are expected to be announced in the coming days.
