Logan Paul Says He Did Save Rey Mysterio At WWE Crown Jewel But He Also Almost Killed Him

Logan Paul recently discussed his recent matchup against Rey Mysterio at WWE Crown Jewel where he captured the United States Championship. The lucha-libre legend attempted a springboard moonsault during the match, which looked dangerous as it appeared he was going to fall directly on his neck. Fortunately, Paul was able to catch Mysterio and they continued the match without any further issues.

On the latest episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Paul took credit for saving Mysterio but also admitted that the botch almost happened because he was standing too far back.

“I’m going to come clean because I’ve seen all these positive headlines. ‘Logan saves Rey Mysterio.’ The Mexican community is going crazy, they’re praising me, saying I’m sort of a hero. I’m like, ‘Dang, I’m getting recognized for something cool? I’ll take it.’ Then, I looked at the clip, upon assessing my performance, while I think I did save Rey Mysterio. I think I also almost killed Rey Mysterio. I think I was too far back for the move, and I think he didn’t clear enough ground for the move. That’s what happened. I was too far back, he didn’t clear enough ground, we both made a mistake. I had to catch him, I had to catch him. I wasn’t going to not catch him,” Paul explained.

Paul also mentioned that he was in a compromised position when he caught Mysterio, as he was in a “spider-knee” position. He revealed that he has compromised knees, so there was a possibility of injury during the catch.
