Bryan Danielson, also known as Daniel Bryan, suffered a broken orbital bone last month, causing him to miss the AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per-view. Initial reports suggested that he might be out for the rest of the year, but his sudden return was announced for the Continental Classic tournament, which began on November 22nd on AEW Dynamite.

Despite the injury, Bryan has shown his toughness throughout his career, dealing with numerous injuries. In an interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Bryan’s wife Brie Garcia, formerly known as Brie Bella, revealed that Bryan tried to downplay his latest injury and endure the pain:

“It’s just one of those things that’s unfortunate for pro wrestlers. You know, our body ages, but mentally we don’t. And I think his body is just like, I think it’s time to hang up the boots. But he’s so strong, I mean nothing holds him back. Even when he got the two broken bones in his orbital bone, he was dealing with the pain and like, ‘I’m fine,’ until his nose went numb, and everything else. So, they’re like, yeah, you need to get X-rays.”

While Bryan is not scheduled to compete in the first week of the Continental Classic, it is possible that he is still not cleared to fly. We will have to wait and see if his status changes next week.

The Continental Classic is an exciting tournament that showcases some of the best talent in AEW. The tournament kicked off on November 22nd, and fans are eagerly anticipating who will come out on top. You can check out the results from the first week of the tournament here.
