Vince McMahon Reportedly Throws Out Longstanding WWE Rule – No Chance of Return

There have been some major changes happening in the world of WWE, and one of the biggest shifts is the company’s new ownership. Vince McMahon recently sold the company to Endeavor, marking the first change of ownership in decades. This change has brought about a few alterations within the company, including the possible introduction of advertising on the ring mats.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the long-standing McMahon rule about no advertising on the ring has been “thrown out.” While there haven’t been any advertisements placed on the mats just yet, it is now a possibility. This move follows in the footsteps of UFC, another company owned by Endeavor, which has featured advertisements on its mats for years. In fact, WWE’s recent Survivor Series event showcased several announcements from sponsors throughout the show.

Opinion: The idea of the ring mat remaining clean and almost sacred may be appealing to some, but the potential financial gain from selling that space cannot be ignored. If featuring advertisements on the mats allows WWE to retain more wrestlers or boost other aspects of the company, then it might be a change worth considering. As the company continues to evolve under new ownership, we can expect more adjustments like this to take place.

What do you think of the idea? Would you mind ads on the mat? Let us know in the comments below.
