Rocky Romero Calls Chris Jericho A Dream Opponent: “That Would Be Such A Big Deal For Me Personally”
Professional wrestler Rocky Romero recently expressed his desire for a showdown with the legendary Chris Jericho. In an interview on Busted Open Radio, Romero explained why facing the multi-time world champion would mean so much to him.
During the interview, Romero revealed, “You know who I really want to wrestle? Jericho. I’d love to have a singles match with Jericho. He’d be somebody who I’d love to work with. That was the generation that inspired me so much. Eddie [Guerrero] is gone, unfortunately, I got to wrestle Rey Mysterio. Jericho in a singles match would be dope. That would be such a big deal for me personally.”
It’s clear that Romero holds Jericho in high regard and sees him as a significant influence on his career. He also discussed how exciting it has been to work with Jericho behind the scenes, stating that having Jericho in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) has helped grow their relationship.
Romero expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Now, getting to work with him behind the scenes, getting him over to New Japan the last few years, and how our relationship has developed over the last couple of years, to work with him in the ring…that would be my guy.”
While Romero’s wish to face Jericho may be yet to be fulfilled, wrestling fans can look forward to Jericho’s upcoming match against Will Ospreay at the All In pay-per-view event on August 27th.
