Penultimate matches for A Block in Hyogo

Just two matches remain on the schedule for A Block in their World Tag League campaigns. With the semifinals on December 8 looming, who will advance? We may have at least one answer tonight.

Watch LIVE or in English on demand on NJPW World!

Main event: WTL A Block- Shota Umino & Ren Narita (3-2) vs TMDK (Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls) (4-1)

The main event pits two of the top two teams in A Block against one another. While Umino and Narita fell to BULLET CLUB War Dogs, both teams suffered defeat to Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii, a valuable pair of tiebreaks for the CHAOS side. Neither of these two teams want Yano and Ishii to spoil them when it comes to the final day, and to help ensure that doesn’t happen, both teams will be going all out for the top spot in the block after tonight’s action. Who will hold pole position?

7th Match: BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Gabe Kidd & Alex Coughlin) (3-2) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi) (2-3)

Tag record: 1-0 Kidd & Coughlin

EVIL & Yujiro must win

Alex Coughlin and Gabe Kidd picked up their third win over United Empire Friday in Wakayama, moving themselves to joint second place with six points. HOUSE OF TORTURE kept their own WTL hopes alive with a win over Gates of Agony, despite an attempt by Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona to pull the wool over EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi’s eyes. Temporary allies were beaten five on two in Wakayama, and H.O.T will give similarly no quarter against their supposed sworn stablemates in the War Dogs. If anything, HOUSE OF TORTURE battles with the rest of BULLET CLUB in the past have seen more chaos and drama than usual, and this may be a war of attrition to see who gets two needed points.

6th Match: CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano) (3-2) vs Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa (2-3)

Kiyomiya and Oiwa need to win

After a slow start, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano are suddenly threatening the very top of the table in A Block. Their win over Shota Umino and Ren Narita in Wakayama Friday stopped A Block from becoming a two horse race, but within this open field, Kiyomiya and Oiwa need to win tonight to keep their own hopes alive.

5th Match: United Empire (HENARE & Great-O-Khan) (2-3) vs Gates of Agony (Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun) (1-4)

United Empire need to win

Gates of Agony are mathematically eliminated

Knowing that without a factional allegiance within NJPW, they would have their backs against the wall in a five on two scenario with HOUSE OF TORTURE this week, Gates of Agony tried to pull the wool over the eyes of EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi this
