The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) is set to make a big splash in Florida as they kick off the new year with a pay-per-view event. According to a report by PWInsider.com, the NWA is scheduled to return to the Florida market on January 13, 2024.

While the exact location for the event has not been finalized, Fort Lauderdale is believed to be the frontrunner and the likely destination for the show. This news comes after the NWA drew a solid crowd of approximately 1,000 fans for their recent TV taping in Sarasota, FL on November 18.

During the FTW show in Riverview, FL on the same day, NWA President Billy Corgan made a surprise appearance and dropped a bombshell announcement. Corgan revealed that FTW would become a developmental territory for the NWA in Florida.

However, there was a catch. Corgan expressed his desire for FTW promoter Bryan Idol, also known as Mercurio, to not hold the FTW Championship if the promotion was to be part of the NWA system. This led to Idol being asked to vacate the title, but he refused, resulting in Damien Fenrir stepping up to challenge him for the championship.

In a turn of events, Idol managed to retain the title with the help of Anthony Catena’s interference. This outcome led Corgan to declare that the deal with FTW was off the table as long as Idol remained the champion.

Aside from the FTW drama, there were other notable matches at the event. Tom Lattimer emerged victorious over Drago, while Samantha Starr & La Brava defeated Kamille and Natalia Markova. Daisy Kill also secured a win against Mike Orlando.

As for this week’s episode of NWA Powerrr, fans can expect to see Aron Stevens facing off against CJ, and Kenzie Paige taking on Big Mama.

This exciting news of the NWA returning to Florida for a PPV event has generated significant buzz among wrestling enthusiasts. It will undoubtedly be a must-see event for fans in the Sunshine State and beyond.
