NJPW has just announced the return of the Academy Showcase, an event that will feature trainees from the LA Dojo facing off against established names in the industry. This event aims to provide the trainees with valuable experience and prepare them for the big stage.
The first matches for the NJPW Academy Summer 2023 Showcase have already been confirmed. One of the standout graduates from the Academy, Matt Vandagriff, will make his NJPW Strong debut as he takes on Rocky Romero in a singles match. Vandagriff impressed at the previous showcase, and fans are excited to see what he can do against a seasoned veteran like Romero.
Another match set for the event will see Zane Jay, the first student to complete both the beginner and advanced Academy courses, making his professional debut against one of his trainers, The DKC. This will be a unique opportunity for Jay to showcase his skills and prove himself in the ring.
The Academy Showcase will take place on Saturday, October 7, at the NJPW Dojo in Carson, CA. Doors will open at 4:30 PM, and the first bell will ring at 5:00 PM. Tickets for the event are now available for purchase. General admission tickets are priced at $40 for limited seating and $30 for standing room.
