The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event will take place tonight at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas as part of the Alamodome’s 30th-anniversary celebration.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has listed the names of marquee Superstars who will not be partaking in the Women’s Rumble match this year.
As of the middle of this week, Ronda Rousey will not be competing in the match as WWE doesn’t want to “marginalize” her star power by having her work the Rumble bout if she’s not going to be the victor. Charlotte Flair is also expected to miss the career-defining showdown.
The report further suggests that NXT talent, especially female wrestlers, have been waiting to hear if WWE will bring anyone up for the Rumble. As of midweek, there was no word on WWE using anyone from NXT for this year’s Rumble matches.
Rhea Ripley is currently the odds-on favorite to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year.
