“Speedball” Mike Bailey, the former X-Division Champion, recently spoke about his progress in TNA (Impact) Wrestling during an interview with Denise Salcedo. Bailey reflected on his marquee matchups this year and discussed the momentum he has gained heading into his contract year in 2024.

One of the standout matches for Bailey this year was his bout against Will Ospreay at Bound For Glory. According to Dave Meltzer, it is considered the greatest match Bailey has ever had. Bailey expressed his excitement about this achievement, stating, “Now to have an official marker of the wrestling you wanted to do and the level you wanted to be at, you’re it. Time to go.”

Bailey also mentioned his match against Konosuke Takeshita in the PWG BOLA finals. He praised Takeshita’s talent and predicted that people will soon recognize him as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Bailey’s memory of his matches is exceptional, and he can recall the structure, moves, and overall experience of each match from this year.

Discussing his progress in TNA, Bailey expressed his belief that the company is in a great place. He sees his own success as a positive sign for the direction in which TNA is heading. Bailey’s match against Ospreay is the highest-rated match in TNA/IMPACT history since the legendary Joe/AJ/Daniels match in 2005. This milestone holds significant meaning for Bailey, as he recalls being inspired by that match as a 15-year-old aspiring wrestler.

As 2024 marks Bailey’s contract year with IMPACT, he is thrilled to have gained momentum going into this important period. He is eager to make a big impact in the wrestling world and is ready to achieve great things with IMPACT in the coming year.
