LA Knight, formerly known as Eli Drake in IMPACT Wrestling, recently discussed his initial confidence when signing with WWE back in 2021. In an interview on Busted Open Radio, Knight revealed that he told WWE management they could let him go after three months if he wasn’t able to connect with the audience.

“When I first came back in 2021, I said, ‘Look, here’s the deal. If you feel like I’m not getting over after three months, get me out of there.’ That’s how confident I was that just in a short amount of time, I’m gonna make this happen. I know how to do this. I’ve been around it long enough to make that happen,” Knight explained.

His confidence was based on his previous experience in NXT, where he had more support in terms of billing and how he was utilized. However, since moving up to the main roster, Knight acknowledged that it has been more challenging, but he remains determined to succeed.

While Knight’s journey in WWE hasn’t been without its struggles, he has managed to break the trend of not being booked on premium live events. In a separate interview, he discussed this issue and how he has overcome it over the past year. You can read more about it here.

It’s clear that LA Knight’s confidence in his abilities has driven him to succeed in WWE. Despite the challenges he has faced, he continues to work hard and prove himself to management and the fans.
