Jey Uso Returns to the Ring After WWE SummerSlam, Massive Showdown Scheduled for Next Week’s RAW

Jey Uso made his triumphant return to the WWE ring on tonight’s episode of RAW, marking his first match since his defeat to Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam. The Norfolk crowd erupted with excitement as Uso made his way to the ring, relishing in the opportunity to stand on his own and be a part of RAW.

However, Uso’s moment was short-lived as Kevin Owens quickly interrupted his speech. Owens expressed his understanding of Uso’s journey, having gone through a similar transformation himself. He acknowledged that changing and making amends is a difficult process, but there are still people in the locker room who doubt Uso’s sincerity. Owens specifically mentioned Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle as individuals who are skeptical of Uso’s intentions.

Before Uso could respond, The Judgment Day, a stable consisting of Damian Priest and Finn Balor, made their presence known. They attacked Owens and praised Uso, offering him a spot in their group. Owens brushed off their interference, stating that he came to RAW for a fight and was willing to take on anyone. Uso stepped up and proposed teaming with Owens to face The Judgment Day later in the night, to which Owens agreed.

The ensuing match was a back-and-forth affair, with Uso accidentally superkicking Owens when Priest evaded the attack. This miscommunication allowed Balor to capitalize and secure the victory with a Coup de Grace on Owens. Post-match, Owens stared at Uso in disbelief before walking off, leaving Uso bewildered.

Uso attempted to apologize to Owens backstage, but Owens dismissed his words, claiming that he now understands everything he needs to know. Owens advised Uso to join his newfound allies in The Judgment Day, even suggesting that Uso could change his hair color from blue to purple to fit in better.

Later, McIntyre approached Uso backstage, expressing his lack of trust in him. Uso responded with indifference, stating that it was fine if McIntyre didn’t believe in him. This led to Uso issuing a challenge to McIntyre for a match on next week’s RAW, which McIntyre accepted without hesitation.

McIntyre and Uso have a storied history, having faced each other in numerous multi-man matches over the years. However, their upcoming match will be their second singles encounter, with their first meeting resulting in McIntyre’s victory in an Unsanctioned Match on November 13, 2020, on SmackDown.

As Uso continued his backstage journey, he was approached by Balor, who expressed admiration for him and his stablemates. Balor also hinted at the fact that WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley is a fan of Uso, piquing his interest. Balor concluded the interaction by reminding Uso that The Judgment Day’s doors are always open for him.
