At No Surrender, Mickie James successfully defended her Knockouts World Title against Masha Slamovich. One week later on IMPACT!, James was confronted by Gisele Shaw who was coming off a big win over Deonna Purrazzo. Alongside Jai Vidal and her new muscle Savannah Evans, Shaw claimed that she was the new #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Title. Not one to back down from a fight, James welcomed the challenge and IMPACT Hall of Famer Gail Kim made the match official. Plus, we now know that Jordynne Grace will receive her contractually-obligated rematch at Sacrifice – but who will be the champion? Will “Hardcore Country” reign supreme or will a reinvented “Quintessential Diva” take the throne?
After inadvertently nailing Kon with a steel chair, costing him his match against Frankie Kazarian at No Surrender, Callihan must now face step 6 in his grueling initiation process to join The Design. Last week, the group was confronted by Rhino who claimed they were playing mind games with Callihan, just like Violent By Design did to him. As the threat of “The War Machine” emerged, Deaner made Callihan’s next goal crystal clear: take out Rhino once and for all. Now these two warriors are set to collide and something has got to give.
Following his hard-fought victory over Mike Bailey on Countdown to No Surrender, Jonathan Gresham returns to singles competition, this time against New Japan Pro-Wrestling standout KUSHIDA. With Multiverse United: Only the STRONG Survive right around the corner, this is just a preview of the interpromotional matchups that will take place on the co-branded mega event. Speaking of Multiverse United, KUSHIDA is gearing up for his dream match against IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander and a victory here would give him an important boost of momentum.
