WWE Summerslam 2023 Predictions

Summerslam, one of the “Big 4” Pay-Per-View events of the year, is just around the corner. Taking place at Ford Field in Detroit on August 5th, this is shaping up to be the biggest wrestling event of the summer. With WWE firing on all cylinders and plenty of unanswered questions leading up to the event, let’s dive into my predictions for WWE Summerslam 2023.

Summerslam Slim Jim Battle Royale

Winner: LA Knight

This match feels like a way to get more talent on the card, and with only one competitor announced, LA Knight seems like the logical choice to win. Knight has been gaining popularity rapidly, and a victory in this Battle Royale could propel him further up the card.

Logan Paul vs. Ricochet

Winner: Logan Paul

It’s about time Logan Paul picks up a victory on a Pay-Per-View, and Ricochet is the perfect opponent to put him against. Ricochet may not be high on the card, but he has enough credibility to make a win over him meaningful. Plus, Ricochet’s experience can help carry Logan Paul to a great match.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (C) vs. Drew McIntyre

Winner: Drew McIntyre

As much as I don’t want to see this happen, it seems like the direction WWE is heading. McIntyre was rumored to be leaving earlier this year, but those rumors have since vanished. While Gunther should continue his impressive run, it appears McIntyre is being positioned for some sort of award for his return.

Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler

Winner: Shayna Baszler

Ronda Rousey seems to be on her way out of WWE, and what better way to exit than by putting over her friend? Baszler can get a high-profile win and start rebuilding after years of poor booking. While this may not feel like a Summerslam-level match, it’s a commendable attempt by WWE to add some heat to this rivalry.

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Asuka (C) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Inserting herself into a match and story that doesn’t necessarily require her, Charlotte Flair winning the title seems like a classic WWE move. This sets up a future singles match between Belair and Flair, and having Asuka take the pin allows the feud to continue without either woman suffering a clean loss.

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

Winner: Cody Rhodes

If Jey Uso doesn’t defeat Roman Reigns in the main event, Cody Rhodes needs to be the one to do it. It seemed like a missed opportunity to have Rhodes dethrone Reigns, but hopefully, he can build himself back up to the main event scene with a win here. The reasons for this ongoing feud between Rhodes and Lesnar remain unknown, but I’m still hoping for a satisfying conclusion.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins (C) vs. Finn Balor

Winner: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has been carrying the World Heavyweight Championship and making it worth caring about. While Finn Balor may have a stronger reason to win, Rollins is the right person to carry this title for an extended period. If WWE wants the World Heavyweight Championship to be on par with the Universal Championship, having it
