Drew McIntyre has made it clear that he is not willing to turn heel in WWE unless it makes perfect sense. The Scottish Warrior addressed this topic during an appearance on Armon Sandler’s Stay Busy podcast. McIntyre expressed his desire to be involved in interesting and compelling storylines that emotionally invest the fans. He acknowledged the calls for a heel turn but emphasized that it would only happen if it aligns with the character and storyline.

McIntyre stated, “The character itself, I’m willing to go any direction that is interesting. People are calling for a heel turn, but I’m not willing to do that unless it makes perfect sense. We have a lot of equity in Drew McIntyre.” He further explained that he understands John Cena’s perspective of not turning heel, as he has witnessed the positive impact WWE and McIntyre have on people, particularly during his involvement with the Special Olympics.

McIntyre also reflected on his past experiences as a heel, mentioning that one of his favorite runs was outside the company. He acknowledged the darker side of his character and the intensity it brings to his performances.

As fans eagerly anticipate WWE SummerSlam 2023 PLE this Saturday, one of the marquee matches will see McIntyre challenging GUNTHER for the WWE Intercontinental Title. This showdown promises to be a hard-hitting battle between two formidable competitors. The WWE Universe will be on the edge of their seats as they witness McIntyre’s relentless pursuit of championship gold.
