Dominik Mysterio to Defend WWE NXT North American Title in Triple Threat at The Great American Bash

After winning the WWE NXT North American Title from Wes Lee last week, Dominik Mysterio was originally scheduled to defend his title against #1 contender Mustafa Ali at The Great American Bash. However, a twist unfolded on the go-home show, leading to a change in the match’s format.
During the go-home show, Mustafa Ali and Wes Lee engaged in a heated argument over who deserved the title shot against Mysterio. Sensing the tension, Mysterio stepped up and offered to face both Ali and Lee in a Triple Threat match. The WWE management wasted no time in capitalizing on this opportunity and announced Ali vs. Lee vs. Mysterio for The Great American Bash.
The 2023 NXT Great American Bash Premium Live Event is set to take place on Sunday, July 30 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park in Cedar Park, Texas. Alongside the highly anticipated Triple Threat match, the event promises an action-packed card.
The updated card for the event is as follows:
- NXT Title Match: Ilja Dragunov vs. Carmelo Hayes (c)
- Submission Match for the NXT Women’s Title: Thea Hail vs. Tiffany Stratton (c)
- Triple Threat for the NXT North American Title: Mustafa Ali vs. Wes Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio (c)
- NXT Tag Team Titles Match: Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo vs. Gallus (Wolfgang, Mark Coffey) (c)
- Blair Davenport vs. Roxanne Perez
