Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE featured an AEW International Championship match between champion “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy and Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher. Orange Cassidy won the match after performing a DDT on the apron, Beach Break on the arena floor, Stun Dog Millionaire, brain buster, Michonoku Driver, thrust kick and a Beach Break. Meanwhile, backstage The Blackpool Combat Club (Moxley, Metalik, Blake) declared their dominance, and AEW World Champion MJF vowed to take out the entire Combat Club this Sunday. Darby Allin addressed the AEW fans promising that they will see a supremely talented match at the upcoming pay-per-view, with all three wrestlers in the match not on the level of MJF. The AEW fans were encouraged to worry as MJF could take his ball and go home when his contract expires. AEW is a homegrown movement, composed of wrestlers who have beaten the best in the industry. Darby Allin and MJF faced off in the main event of AEW Dynamite this week. Darby declared his intention to become the AEW World Champion, and MJF responded by kicking him with a low blow. Sammy Guevara ran out and Max jumped out of the ring. Jack Perry then clotheslined MJF on the ramp and raised Darby Allin’s hand with the World title belt. At AEW Collision, Taya speared Lady Frost, who retaliated with a roundhouse kick. Taya then delivered a backbreaker and finisher for the pin. Adam Cole made a phone call to Sabu to be in his corner for his unsanctioned match against the JAS this Sunday. Daniel Garcia and Roderick Strong had a match that ended with Roderick Strong pinning Garcia after hitting the gut buster and the End of Heartache. Roderick Strong won the match. Adam Cole and Sabu will be teaming up for the unsanctioned match. The Lucha Bros connected with a double stomp on Wheeler for the win. The Lucha Bros are the ROH World Tag Team Champions.
Roderick Strong continues to gain momentum in AEW as The Lucha Bros (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) defeated the Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Penta El Zero Miedo hit Claudio with a Canadian Destroyer and The Lucha Bros connected with a double stomp on Wheeler for the win. At AEW Double Or Nothing 2023, the Lucha Bros defeated Wheeler Yuta with a double team move. Claudio had Wheeler in a leg lock, but Rey Fenix attempted to tag in for help. Claudio prevented the tag with a Giant Swing, and Penta El Zero Miedo entered and hit Wheeler with double knees. Claudio responded with a boot to Penta’s head and Penta retaliated with a Canadian Destroyer. Claudio then finished the match with a fastball special off the top rope, but the Young Bucks interfered at the last minute and pulled Claudio out of the ring.
