Contrary to popular belief, Johnson revealed that it’s not getting back into wrestling shape or injury concerns that worry him about returning to the ring. Instead, he wants to create something new and special for the fans. He wants to do something unprecedented.
During the interview, McAfee asked Johnson how close he came to headlining WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium with Roman Reigns. Ultimately, they decided to put their plans on hold due to the upcoming merger between WWE and UFC as TKO after Endeavor’s acquisition of WWE. Johnson also mentioned the possibility of a future WrestleMania in Philadelphia.
When asked about a potential showdown with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, Johnson remained open to the idea. However, he emphasized the importance of figuring out what that unique and special element would be to deliver an incredible experience for the fans and to create a new era in the world of pro wrestling.
Johnson’s desire to think big picture aligns with his longstanding relationship with Vince McMahon, who is known for his big-picture thinking. The Rock wants to not only deliver for the fans but also for the wrestlers in the locker room, ensuring they are part of something that brings about significant change in the world of pro wrestling.
As for McMahon’s mustache, Johnson wisely evaded the question during the interview.
