Saturday’s WWE Payback event saw Zoey Stark break away from WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Stark interfered in Stratus’ Steel Cage match with Becky Lynch, but Lynch still got the win. After the match, Lynch disrespected Stark and slapped her, but received a Z360 to end the segment. Stark then came up short against Shayna Baszler on Monday’s RAW, in what was a rematch from the August 7 RAW.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Stark has been receiving great reviews from talent she’s worked with on the main roster since being called up in the WWE Draft earlier this year. WWE officials, including Chief Content Officer Triple H and Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels, have been high on Stark since she signed in January 2021.

Stark’s ability to handle her call-up and the associated responsibilities has also garnered praise from people backstage. It was noted that WWE officials had their eyes on Stark early on, and she gained further recognition for her resilience in returning from a knee injury in July 2022. Despite being on the shelf for seven months, Stark did not miss a beat in the ring.

After her return from injury, Stark had multiple appearances on WWE Main Event, where she received positive reviews internally. These appearances ultimately led to her Royal Rumble debut in January. Following The Rumble, Stark was reportedly slated for a call-up to the WWE main roster, and by March, NXT officials were instructed to wrap up her run there.

Zoey Stark’s trajectory in WWE continues to rise, and she is quickly making a name for herself among both fans and industry insiders. With her impressive in-ring skills and ability to adapt to new challenges, it’s no wonder that she has caught the attention of top WWE officials.
