WWE Update: Sami Zayn Suffers Meniscus Tear, Latest on His Time Off Request

WWE Superstar Sami Zayn has officially started his hiatus from the company. Last week on Monday Night RAW, Zayn participated in an injury angle with Drew McIntyre to explain his upcoming planned absence on television. This week’s show began with Jey Uso sending well-wishes to Zayn and hoping for a speedy recovery.

During the commentary, Michael Cole and Wade Barrett announced that Zayn had suffered a partially torn meniscus. Cole mentioned that Zayn was still being evaluated, and further details about his injury were unclear. However, according to Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Zayn requested time off from WWE, and his request was granted. The exact start date and duration of his hiatus have not been confirmed.

Based on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, it is evident that Zayn’s hiatus has already begun. Additionally, Zayn is not scheduled to appear on the December 28th show in Laval, Quebec, which is typically built around him. Therefore, it is safe to assume that his hiatus will last at least until that date.

We will continue to provide updates on Sami Zayn’s WWE status as more information becomes available.
