WWE Survivor Series Match Altered as Wrestler Sidelined by Injury, New Competitor Revealed

Card subject to change. We are less than a day away from Survivor Series and in theory that should mean the entire card is set. However, that is not how WWE has worked over the years and there is often a way for a match to be changed at the very last minute. This can often be done as a way to enhance whatever story the company has going on in the long term and that might be the case again.

In recent weeks, Santos Escobar and Carlito have been at odds after Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio and the LWO. The two were scheduled to face each other at the Survivor Series so Carlito called out Escobar this week on SmackDown. A fight broke out with Escobar getting in a cheap shot on Carlito. As a result, Carlito was pulled from the match, with Dragon Lee volunteering to take his place. Lee vs. Escobar is now set for Survivor Series.

Opinion: There are worse ways to go with something like this as it gives the story a new spin. At the end of the day, Lee feels like a major project for WWE and if they can do something special with him like this, it makes sense for him to get out there. Lee getting a big rub from Mysterio is not a bad idea whatsoever, but Escobar getting some help to beat him tomorrow is certainly a possibility as well.
