WWE NXT Reigns Supreme on Cable, Shatters Viewership Records and Dominates Key Demo for Over Two Years!

Tuesday’s live edition of WWE NXT on the USA Network saw a significant increase in viewership, drawing 776,000 viewers, according to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics. This marks an 8.23% increase from last week’s episode, which had 717,000 viewers following the Great American Bash.

In addition to the rise in viewership, Tuesday’s NXT also maintained its 0.23 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, matching the ratings from the previous week and the week before that.

What sets this week’s episode apart is that it topped the night on cable, a rare achievement for the show. According to spoilertv.com, the second-highest rated show on cable that night was Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, which garnered a 0.17 key demo rating with 436,000 viewers. MTV’s Caught In the Act 2 ranked third with a 0.15 key demo rating and 433,000 viewers. FNC’s The Five and Gutfeld! rounded out the top five cable shows for the night.

This week’s NXT viewership and key demo rating were both well above the 2022 average, with viewership up 8.23% from the previous week. Furthermore, this marks the fourth consecutive week that NXT has drawn more than 700,000 viewers, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in over two years since the first four Tuesday night episodes. It’s also the fifth consecutive week that NXT has achieved a key demo rating of 0.20 or higher, which hasn’t been seen in over two years since those initial Tuesday shows in April 2021.

The episode also achieved the highest total audience since April 20, 2021, with 844,000 viewers and a 0.23 key demo rating. This ties with the Gold Rush Week 1 episode on June 20 of this year and the April 20, 2021 episode for the highest key demo rating.

Compared to the same episode last year, this week’s NXT viewership is up 29.98%, while the 18-49 key demo rating is up 76.92%. This episode from 2022 served as the Heatwave go-home show.

The line-up for this week’s live NXT included Mustafa Ali vs. Axiom as the opener, Blair Davenport vs. Kelani Jordan, Ivy Nile vs. Kiana James, Noam Dar defending his fake Heritage Cup against Tyler Bate, Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams (which was just a promo), Bron Breakker vs. Von Wagner, an appearance by NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, and the tag team main event – NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio with WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley defending against Dragon Lee with 2023 WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

With four consecutive weeks of increased viewership and strong key demo ratings, NXT continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of professional wrestling.
