Iron Sheik was a huge influence on both Brian Myers & Matt Cardona, and they had a chance to meet him & thank him for >

“I’m not really sure how to put this into words, but today is a very sad day for the wrestling community. I got to meet The Iron Sheik a few times in my life, and every time I did, he was so kind, so generous, so funny, and so supportive.

“He was a true legend in every sense of the word, and he was a huge influence on both myself and Matt Cardona.

“When we were kids, and we wanted to be pro wrestlers, we would watch these videos of The Iron Sheik, and we would be in awe of him. We’d be like, ‘Wow, this guy is the coolest guy in the world. He’s the toughest guy in the world. He’s the most badass guy in the world.’ And we wanted to be like him.

“So, I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Iron Sheik. Thank you for everything you did for us. Thank you for everything you did for the wrestling business. Thank you for being a true legend, and a true hero, and a true icon.
