WATCH: Former NXT Champion Turns Evil In Surprise Twist

He has a future. There are moments in a wrestler’s career where everything changes. It could be an interview, a showdown or a loss. In some cases, the moment is a game changer for two people at once. That was the case on Saturday in the main event of NXT’s Stand & Deliver, and now we have seen what is next for both of the people involved, as two things changed at once.

At Stand & Deliver, Carmelo Hayes defeated Bron Breakker to become the new NXT Champion. This week on NXT, Hayes held a championship celebration and invited Breakker out. The two showed respect for each other, with Hayes saying Breakker was a great champion and Breakker saying he was passing the torch to the new champion. Breakker then attacked Hayes and Hayes’ friend Trick Williams, turning into a villain for the first time in his NXT career.

It was a crazy night. Check out the match, the celebration, and the attack:

Opinion: This is something that Breakker had to do sooner or later. If he is sticking around NXT, there is no reason for him to stay a good guy, especially after spending so much time as champion already. Breakker is a monster who has dominated NXT for over a year now and it would make sense for him to try and do something else now. If nothing else, reversing the roles with Hayes would make for a good rematch.
