Two For 39: WWE Announces Two Unique Matches For WrestleMania 39

Fill it up. Two weeks from this weekend, WWE will present its biggest event of the year with WrestleMania 39. That is the kind of special that could change a lot of careers as you never know where things are going to go. Just making it onto the show is one of the most important goals a wrestler can reach. Now we know about a lot more people who are going to make the show.

This week on SmackDown, WWE announced a pair of fatal four way tag team matches, described as showcase matches. The matches, one men’s and one women’s, will include four teams, with WWE also announcing that qualifying matches for the WrestleMania spots will take place. So far, the only team to qualify is Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, who defeated Emma and Tegan Nox. There is no word on who else will be involved in qualifying matches.

This has potential. Check out the first qualifying match plus some potential other teams:

Opinion: This one is a little weird, as I’m not sure what the incentive here is other than getting to be on WrestleMania. There was no reward announced for the winner, and unless there is a personal issue between the teams, it is going to be a bit weird to have a pair of matches for the sake of having matches. Maybe WWE will change things up, but this is an odd way to go.
