Tony Khan Provides Update on Cash Wheeler’s Status and Teases Thrilling All In Match

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been making headlines recently due to the arrest of one of their wrestlers, Cash Wheeler, for aggravated assault. Despite the legal troubles, it has been confirmed that Wheeler is still expected to wrestle at AEW’s upcoming All In PPV event in London this Sunday.

The news was first reported by Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, who stated that AEW has continued to promote Wheeler’s Tag Team championship defense with his partner Dax Harwood against The Young Bucks for the highly anticipated event. This confirmation comes after AEW head honcho, Tony Khan, hyped the rubber match between the two teams on a media call.

When asked about Wheeler’s status, Khan responded by saying, “As for things that have happened outside of the ring, I can’t comment on the specifics at this time because I still don’t know everything. We’re still learning facts. Based on the information we have at this time, we’re still keeping an eye on that situation. At this time, I think it’s a very inconclusive situation.”

There has been speculation about when Khan and others at AEW were aware of Wheeler’s legal situation. While the alleged incident occurred on July 27 and the arrest warrant was issued on July 28, Wheeler’s attorney entered his plea with the court on August 3. Khan’s response suggests that he learned about the situation relatively recently and has been gathering information.

Despite the ongoing legal issues, Khan stated, “As of right now, I have no reason to believe that there will be a status change to the Tag Team title match. I’m not saying I’m taking it lightly, but as of what I’ve seen right now, I haven’t seen enough to make a change there. And I’m not expecting to.”

Therefore, it appears that the FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. The Young Bucks match is still scheduled to take place at All In. Both teams are being advertised for a face-to-face interview on Dynamite tomorrow, which will likely be a pre-taped segment.

After the event, it remains to be seen if Wheeler will face any disciplinary action from AEW for the alleged incident or any failure to inform the company about it.
