Rhyno Praises Christian, Recalls WWE Combining ECW & WCW For Invasion Angle
Former WWE star Rhyno recently appeared on his Kurt Angle Show and shared his thoughts on various topics, including his admiration for Christian and his experience during the invasion angle in WWE.
When asked about his praise for Christian, Rhyno had nothing but positive things to say. He described Christian as a great person and a fantastic wrestler, both as a babyface and a heel. Rhyno also highlighted Christian’s creativity and his ability to develop new talent. He recalled attending his first pay-per-view event in February 2001, where he observed the match between Kurt Angle and The Rock. Although Rhyno didn’t participate in that particular match, he took the opportunity to listen and learn from veterans like Pat Patterson and Jim Ross. He also sought guidance from his friends Edge and Christian, who helped him fine-tune his skills and address any concerns he had.
Regarding the combination of ECW and WCW into the Alliance, Rhyno initially didn’t understand the decision. However, he learned that it was due to a lack of star power on both sides. Many big names from ECW and WCW were still under contract with Turner Broadcasting and chose to sit at home and collect their salaries rather than join WWE. This shortage of star power led to the decision to merge the two brands, creating the Alliance. Rhyno acknowledged that this move was necessary to present a credible threat to WWE.
