It’s always unfortunate when a wrestler gets injured and has to take time off from the ring. The latest casualty is NXT star Wes Lee, who recently won a four-way match to become the number one contender for the NXT North American Title. However, Lee revealed this week that he needs back surgery, which will keep him out of action for eight to twelve months. As a result, his title shot against Dominik Mysterio at Deadline has been canceled.
This is a significant setback for Lee, who has been making waves in NXT and has become one of the brand’s top stars. It’s a shame to see him sidelined for such a long period of time, especially when he was on the cusp of a major opportunity. However, the show must go on, and a replacement has been found for Lee at Deadline.
Dragon Lee has been announced as the new challenger for Dominik Mysterio’s North American Title. In a surprising twist, Mysterio’s father, Rey Mysterio, will be in Dragon Lee’s corner for the match. This adds an extra layer of intrigue to the bout, as the presence of Rey Mysterio could potentially tip the scales in Dragon Lee’s favor.
Opinion: It’s always disappointing to see a talented wrestler like Wes Lee get sidelined by injury. He was on the rise in NXT and had a real chance at capturing the North American Title. Dragon Lee is a suitable replacement, but it’s hard to say if he can fill the void left by Lee’s absence. With Rey Mysterio in his corner, Dragon Lee certainly has a fighting chance, but it won’t be easy.
