Night 3 of the World Tag League Results and Standings

TMDK Dominates A Block in World Tag League

The second night of A Block matches in the World Tag League took place in Yokohama on November 23, and it was TMDK (The Mighty Don’t Kneel) who emerged as the clear leaders in the block. Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste defeated HOUSE OF TORTURE’s EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi, securing their spot at the top of the table with four points.

From the start of the match, TMDK had to endure the dirty tactics of H.O.T, who took control of the Australians. However, Mikey and Shane managed to turn the tide and executed their signature move, the Super Tankbuster, but the bell rang before the move could connect. SHO and Yoshinobu Kanemaru provided a distraction, but Kanemaru’s whiskey mist backfired, leading to Yujiro suffering the delayed Tankbuster.

TMDK now sits at the top of a crowded field with two points, alongside BULLET CLUB War Dogs, Alex Coughlin, and Gabe Kidd. The War Dogs defeated Shota Umino and Ren Narita in a hard-fought match. Kidd and Coughlin ambushed Umino during his entrance, and as Narita tried to make the save, both teams brawled outside the ring. Once they returned to the ring, the momentum shifted in favor of the young Hontai stars. However, the War Dogs regained control after a low bridge.

Narita and Umino managed to build momentum once again on Kidd, delivering a Hart Attack and knees in the corner. Umino locked in an STF on Kidd, but Coughlin had his hands on Narita. Coughlin introduced a pair of chairs into the ring, causing chaos. As Umino tried to handle the situation, he fell victim to a double Muscle Buster. Kidd capitalized on the distraction caused by Coughlin, delivering a chair shot and a devastating leg trap pile driver for the win.

HENARE and Great-O-Khan also secured their first victory in the tournament, defeating Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya. The match was chaotic, with Oiwa capitalizing on a HENARE mistake to gain the upper hand. O-Khan entered the match, resulting in a thrilling exchange of grappling and suplexes. As Kiyomiya re-entered, O-Khan seemed to be in trouble, but HENARE delivered a massive Rampage tackle and a Pop-Up Eliminator, securing the victory and boosting O-Khan’s confidence.

In the first tag league match of the night, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano defeated the Gates of Agony. Ishii and Toa Liona engaged in a hard-hitting battle, but it seemed like Yano was on the verge of defeat after Bishop Kaun’s shotgun dropkick. However, a double low blow and a schoolboy roll-up led to a quick reversal of fortunes for Yano.

The action continues with B Block matches on November 24 in Yamanashi. Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr. will face BULLET CLUB Rogue Army, Bishamon will take on Monstersauce, Suzuki and Nagata will go up against Tsuji and Zandokan Jr., and Uemura and Taichi will face Hikuleo and El Phantasmo.
