Nigel McGuinness Declares Bryan Danielson as the Supreme Wrestler of His Era

Nigel McGuinness, the commentator for AEW/ROH, recently sat down for an interview with Fightful before the AEW All In pay-per-view event. During the interview, McGuinness named Bryan Danielson as the best wrestler of his generation, citing their classic matches together.

“I’m very proud, certainly very proud of those matches. People used to say, ‘what’s your favorite match?’ It would never be a match with Bryan because there is a lot of pressure, there was a lot of physical toll as well. I was glad I was able to have matches that still stand up today and glad I got the chance to wrestle him. I call him a Clamdigger and make fun of him for having girly arms and taking six months off because he broke one little arm where he has 205 perfectly normal bones in his body, but ultimately, in my opinion, he is the best wrestler of my generation or perhaps any generation. Why that is the case? I’m not really sure. You can look back to how he grew up, what made him the person he is, but I don’t think there is anyone you can put on that level in terms of having great matches with absolutely everybody he gets in the ring with, maybe a Kurt Angle. Certain people might be in the conversation, but obviously, I’m biased because my best matches were with him.”

McGuinness’s praise for Bryan Danielson comes as no surprise, as the two have a history of delivering exceptional performances in the ring. Their matches have been highly regarded by fans and critics alike, showcasing their incredible talent and ability to tell compelling stories through their wrestling.

Throughout his career, Bryan Danielson has consistently proven himself to be one of the most versatile and skilled wrestlers in the industry. From his technical prowess to his high-flying maneuvers, Danielson has a wide range of abilities that allow him to adapt to any style of wrestling and put on outstanding matches with anyone he faces.

McGuinness also mentioned Kurt Angle as someone who could be in the conversation for the best wrestler of his generation. Angle, known for his Olympic background and intense in-ring style, has had his fair share of memorable matches and has left a lasting impact on the wrestling world.

While opinions on the best wrestler of a generation may vary, McGuinness’s endorsement of Bryan Danielson holds weight due to his firsthand experience in the ring with him. McGuinness’s ability to recognize Danielson’s talent and skill speaks volumes about the impact he has had on the wrestling industry.

As fans, we can only hope that Bryan Danielson continues to deliver incredible performances and create unforgettable moments in the ring. His dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with the audience make him a true standout in the world of professional wrestling.
