Major Championship Showdown Added to WWE NXT No Mercy

The WWE NXT North American Title will be defended at the upcoming No Mercy event, pitting Mustafa Ali against current champion Dominik Mysterio. The highly anticipated match was made official after Ali emerged victorious in a #1 contender’s match against Dragon Lee, with Mysterio serving as the special referee. However, the finish of the match was marred by controversy, as Mysterio executed a fast count during a roll-up pin by Ali. Frustrated by the tainted victory, Ali attacked Mysterio after the match. This heated altercation sets the stage for an intense showdown at No Mercy.

Since capturing the NXT North American Title from Wes Lee on the July 18th episode of NXT, Mysterio has successfully defended his championship on four separate occasions. His title defenses have seen him overcome formidable opponents such as Butch, Sami Zayn, Ali, and Dragon Lee in a thrilling Triple Threat match. As Mysterio prepares for his fifth televised title defense, he will undoubtedly look to prove his mettle against Ali, who is determined to claim the championship.

No Mercy, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 30th, will be a premium live event held at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. In addition to the NXT North American Title match, the card will also feature a highly anticipated NXT Heritage Cup Match. The Global Heritage Invitational winner will face off against current champion Noam Dar, adding another layer of excitement to the event.
