Kevin Owens has decided not to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title again, citing his previous failed attempts as the reason. In an interview with James Williams, Owens explained his decision, stating, “I’ve had my chances against Roman Reigns, and I’ve come up short. I think it’s time for other wrestlers to step up and have their opportunity. I’m here for the fans, and I don’t want to take away from their enjoyment by constantly chasing after a title I haven’t been able to win.”
Owens and Reigns have had several memorable matches in the past. While Owens’ decision not to challenge Reigns again may come as a surprise to some, it reflects his dedication to putting on entertaining matches and prioritizing the overall fan experience.
Opinion: Owens’ decision not to pursue another title shot against Reigns is a unique and commendable one. While it may be unconventional for a wrestler to voluntarily step back from championship contention, Owens’ reasoning shows a level of self-awareness and consideration for his fellow wrestlers.
