He’s gone. There are several different people who come together to make a WWE event work. Some of them are a bit more noticeable than others, as there are all kinds who never get any spotlight. Those are the people who work backstage and often come up with what you are going to see on television. Now one of the more longstanding names has left the company.

According to Fightful Select, Nick Manfredini, a WWE writer who started in 2010, has left the company. It is not clear if he left on his own or was let go. Manfredini was described as “heavily influential” in the creation of the Firefly Funhouse and often wrote the segments, with Bray Wyatt often praising him backstage. Manfredini left the company before Wyatt took his current hiatus due to illness.

The Funhouse has been all over the place. Check out some of Manfredini’s work:

Opinion: This sort of departure is the kind of thing that can change a lot about WWE’s presentation. The company will get a new writer and that means a new voice could be added to the company. It could be interesting to see where this leads, but it should also be interesting if we find out why Manfredini left. If he chose to there isn’t much of a story, but being let go could be quite a different situation.
