Academy Trainees Showcase Their Skills at NJPW Academy Showcase

The NJPW Academy is set to end its inaugural class on a high note with the first NJPW Academy Showcase on June 10 at the LA Dojo. The event will feature students from the academy as they showcase their skills against their peers, coaches, and other local talent. The goal is to demonstrate that NJPW Academy is a pro-wrestling destination.

Limited standing tickets are still available for the event, which will feature a main event between Trish Adora and Johnnie Robbie. The two will clash in a STRONG Women’s Division match, looking to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the creation of the STRONG Women’s Championship. Adora, who has recently been featured on Ring of Honor television, will be looking to use her experience edge over the up-and-coming Robbie. However, Robbie, who has been making a name for herself on the West Coast independent scene since her debut in 2021, will have the hometown advantage.

The event will also feature a tag team match between Kevin Knight & The DKC and Matt Vandagriff & Cameron Gates. The DKC and Gates are both graduates of the nearby Santino Bros Wrestling Academy, while Knight and Vandagriff are the two most recent graduates of the LA Dojo. The match is expected to be a showcase of the skills learned at the respective academies.

The NJPW Academy was established in Los Angeles in 2021, and its inaugural class has been training for the past three months. The academy is focused on providing a comprehensive training program for aspiring professional wrestlers, with a curriculum that covers all aspects of the business, including in-ring skills, character development, and promo work.

The NJPW Academy is part of New Japan Pro Wrestling, which is one of the largest and most successful professional wrestling organizations in the world. NJPW has a long history of producing top-tier talent, including current WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura and AEW’s Jon Moxley. The establishment of the NJPW Academy in the United States is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its reach and develop new talent.

The NJPW Academy Showcase is an opportunity for the academy’s inaugural class to demonstrate their skills and show that they have what it takes to succeed in the pro-wrestling industry. The event is also a chance for fans to see the future stars of the industry in action. Limited standing tickets are still available for the event, which promises to be an exciting night of wrestling action.
