Gable Claims Victory, but GUNTHER Retains Intercontinental Championship

Filed under:

Chad Gable of Alpha Academy had a chance to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Going up against GUNTHER, Gable put up an impressive fight and managed to win the match, but not the title.

Gable has been on a roll lately, proving that he has what it takes to be a top singles competitor. Teaming up with Otis as part of Alpha Academy has allowed him to showcase his skills and gain momentum in the ring. However, despite his efforts, GABLE was unable to capture the Intercontinental Championship.

The match between Gable and GUNTHER was highly anticipated, as GUNTHER was just 18 days away from breaking Honky Tonk Man’s record for the longest reign as Intercontinental Champion. Gable fought valiantly and managed to survive GUNTHER’s aggressive assault. In the end, Gable used a suplex over the barricade to keep GUNTHER outside the ring for the count of 10, winning the match by count out.

While Gable may have won the match, GUNTHER retained the Intercontinental Championship. This loss does not deter Gable, as he made it clear that he is still coming for the title and a rematch may be in the future.
