One of the standout performers from the first showcase, Matt Vandagriff, will be making his NJPW Strong debut in a singles match against the experienced Rocky Romero. Vandagriff has proven himself as a promising graduate of the NJPW Academy, and this match will be a true test of his skills against a seasoned veteran like Romero.
Another exciting match on the card features Zane Jay, who is set to make his professional debut against one of his trainers, The DKC. Jay has completed both the beginner and advanced Academy courses, making him one of the first students to achieve this milestone. This match will showcase the growth and development of Jay as he steps into the ring for the first time as a professional wrestler.
The NJPW Academy Summer 2023 Showcase is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 7 at the NJPW Dojo in Carson, CA. The doors will open at 4:30 PM, with the bell time set for 5:00 PM.
