“Thrillbilly” Silas Mason is the New NWA National Heavyweight Champion

On Night One of the NWA 75th Anniversary Show, “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason emerged victorious in a Winner-Take-All Triple Threat match to capture the vacant NWA National Heavyweight Title. Mason defeated JR Kratos and Odinson in an intense battle to claim the championship.

The match saw several dramatic moments, including Mason turning on his former ally Pollo Del Mar and delivering his signature move, the Thrillride, to secure the victory. Despite facing tough competition from Kratos and Odinson, Mason proved to be the superior competitor and pinned Odinson after executing another Thrillride.

This win holds special significance for Mason, as he dedicated his victory to the late WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk, who recently passed away at the age of 79.

This marks Mason’s first singles reign in the NWA, and he is determined to make the most of this opportunity. The title was declared vacant on the July 12 edition of NWA Powerrr when EC3 retained over Mason but then vacated the title to challenge for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title in the Night One main event of the NWA 75th Anniversary Show.

EC3 had held the NWA National Heavyweight Title for approximately 93 days before Mason’s victory. He won the championship by defeating Cyron at the NWA 312 event on April 7 of this year.

While the Night One event showcased Mason’s triumph, it also set the stage for Night Two, where a 21-Man Battle Royal was originally scheduled to determine the first challenger for the new NWA National Heavyweight Champion. However, it appears that the Battle Royal has been moved to Night Two, and it remains to be seen if the winner will compete in both the Battle Royal and the title match.
