Diamond Dallas Page recently gave his thoughts on AEW World Champion, MJF, during an interview with Chris Van Vilet. In the interview, DDP revealed that MJF is actually a very nice person in real life, despite portraying a villainous character in the wrestling world.
According to DDP, MJF is committed to living his gimmick as a heel. He believes that MJF could easily turn babyface and be even more popular, but his dedication to being a heel is what sets him apart. DDP stated, “He’s never out of character. He’s charging more than anyone. I don’t know if it’s a particular moment. But I remember, there was a point of charging for autographs, and MJF when he was nobody put himself at like $150. And they paid it! [MJF said] I don’t give a f*ck if you come here and want my autograph or not. I’m better than you and you know it.”
DDP commended MJF for his commitment to his character, saying, “You have to appreciate MJF’s commitment to being MJF.” He even shared a personal story where MJF grabbed his friend’s coffee, spit in it, and gave it back to him, all while staying in character. DDP expressed his admiration for MJF’s dedication, stating, “That’s him, he’s committed to the character.”
