Courtney Rush Reveals Shocking Reason Behind Her Return to Original Persona in IMPACT Wrestling

IMPACT Wrestling star Courtney Rush, formerly known as Rosemary, recently opened up about her decision to revert back to her old persona. In a candid interview on Cody Deaner’s Wrestling Is Life podcast, Rush discussed the factors that led to her transformation.

Reflecting on her journey, Rush acknowledged that the inspiration to bring back her Courtney Rush character stemmed from seeing other wrestlers embrace alternate personas. She mentioned Su Yung, who started adopting different characters, and Havok, who transitioned into Jessicka. Seeing their enjoyment and authenticity on-screen made Rush realize that she wanted to explore a different side of herself.

Rush expressed her desire to take a break from the intensity of her Rosemary character. As Rosemary, she always played the dark and mysterious role, constantly challenging others and being the outsider. However, she wanted to experience being the “idiot” for a change and have fun in her portrayal. After embodying Rosemary for seven years, Rush felt it was the perfect time to take a break and bookmark that chapter of her career.

Furthermore, Rush admitted that the pressure of Rosemary being her job and livelihood sometimes overshadowed the joy she initially felt for the character. She wanted to prove to herself that she could succeed outside of the Rosemary persona and rediscover the fun in wrestling. Rush highlighted the importance of remembering how to have fun and embracing new challenges.
