CM Punk’s Main Event Appearance Sparks Resurgence in Collision’s Ratings

All Elite Wrestling’s fourth episode of AEW Collision on TNT saw a significant improvement in viewership compared to the previous week. The main event, featuring CM Punk wrestling his old rival Samoa Joe, proved to be a much better draw for fans.

The episode, which aired on July 8, attracted an audience of 580,000 viewers and garnered a .21 rating among 18-49 year olds. These numbers are not only well above the previous episode but also nearly identical to the June 24 edition, which showcased Punk in an eight-man tag match. In terms of cable originals, Collision secured the fifth spot among the coveted 18-49 demographic.

Although the initial report from Wrestlenomics does not provide a comprehensive overview of the competition’s performance, it does reveal that ESPN’s broadcast of the UFC 290 prelims at 8pm ET, which aired simultaneously with AEW’s show, emerged as the top-rated cable program with a .32 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The UFC prelims were also simulcast on ABC, but no data regarding ratings or viewership for the broadcast is available.

Let’s take a look at the viewership and demo rating of Collision since its debut:
