AEW Collision Draws New Low in Viewership for Episode with CM Punk’s First “Real” AEW World Title Defense

AEW Collision, which aired on TNT this past Saturday night, experienced a significant drop in viewership compared to the previous week’s live show. According to Wrestlenomics, the eighth episode of Collision drew 417,000 viewers, marking a 43.57% decrease from the 739,000 viewers who tuned in for the seventh episode.

In addition to the decline in total viewers, the show also saw a decline in the 18-49 key demographic. The eighth episode garnered a 0.13 rating in this demographic, which represents a 51.85% decrease from the 0.27 key demo rating of the previous episode. Specifically, 164,000 viewers from the 18-49 demographic watched the show, compared to the 354,000 viewers of the previous episode.

These numbers make Saturday’s Collision the episode with the lowest total audience and the lowest key demo rating thus far, tying with the taped episode that aired on July 1, which also received a 0.13 key demo rating. The total audience for Saturday’s episode was down 43.57% from the previous week, while the key demo rating experienced a 51.85% decrease.

The Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC, served as the venue for the live broadcast of AEW Collision. The advertised lineup for the event included a promo by The Acclaimed, a match between Jay White and Metalik, The House of Black defending their AEW World Trios Championships against Action Andretti, Darius Martin, and Lee Johnson, Kris Statlander defending her AEW TBS Championship against Mercedes Martinez, FTR defending their AEW World Tag Team Championships against Big Bill and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Brian Cage, and the main event featuring CM Punk defending his “Real” AEW World Title against Ricky Starks, with Ricky Steamboat serving as the special outside referee.
