Change Of Plans: NXT Stars Now Allowed To Wrestle Elsewhere, First Case Announced

They’re expanding. WWE has all kinds of wrestlers on its roster, including several developmental stars as part of NXT. Those wrestlers are often just starting their wrestling careers and are mainly in need of ring time. The problem is there is only so much time to go around in NXT, but now WWE might have a solution that can make things a bit easier on everyone involved.

According to Bryan Alvarez, WWE will allow NXT wrestlers to work for select independent promotions. There is no word on which promotions will be able to work with WWE, but Booker T. has announced that NXT’s Ivy Nile will be appearing for his Reality of Wrestling promotion on February 11. WWE had a previous arrangement with Evolve Wrestling in the past but has not had such an agreement since.

NXT is going to allow talent to work select indies going forward, which is a pretty big deal

Excited to merge my @WWENXT favorites with the roster of my students at @TheOfficialROW! Don’t miss a HUGE show next Saturday! Can’t wait to see @ivynile_wwe in the World Gym Arena! https://t.co/9zYvls8WEP

There are some talented stars who could use the exposure. Check out some names who might be going on road trips:

Opinion: This is a heck of an idea from NXT, as there is no reason to leave these wrestlers in Florida on the NXT shows and nothing more. Let the wrestlers see what they can do in front of another crowd and let some other fans get a chance to watch some stars live. This is the kind of thing that could do NXT a lot of good and hopefully that is how this all winds up going.

What do you think of the idea? Who would benefit from this the most? Let us know in the comments below.
