Former WWE star Enzo Amore, now known as Real1, has been a topic of discussion in the wrestling industry lately. On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray shared his thoughts on why he believes Amore hasn’t been able to find work with any wrestling company.
Bully Ray theorized that the real reason behind Amore’s unemployment is his inability to be controlled. He stated, “I think the real reason Enzo doesn’t work for anybody is he cannot be controlled, and we live in an industry these days where they want to be able to control you at all times.”
It’s no secret that the wrestling industry has evolved, and companies now prefer talents who can adhere to their guidelines and follow the script. Amore’s reputation for being outspoken and unpredictable may be perceived as a liability by some organizations.
Despite this, Bully Ray believes that if given a chance, Amore could bring in decent numbers and business for a company. His popularity as a former WWE star and his ability to cut compelling promos are attributes that could potentially attract fans and generate interest.
Tommy Dreamer, who was also part of the discussion, added that Amore may receive criticism for being a better talker than an in-ring performer. While Amore’s promo skills are highly regarded, his in-ring abilities may not be on par with some of the top talents in the industry.
Amore’s upcoming appearance at the All Star Junior Festival on August 19 is an opportunity for fans to see him in action. He will be teaming up with Jack Cartwheel and Starboy Charlie to take on Rich Swann, The DKC, and Ryusuke Taguchi.
Since his departure from WWE, Amore has primarily worked on the independent scene, including Major League Wrestling (MLW). While he may not have found a permanent home yet, his appearances on various independent shows have allowed him to stay active and connected with his fanbase.
It remains to be seen if any wrestling company will take a chance on Amore and provide him with a platform to showcase his talents. In an industry that values control and conformity, it may take a company with a different mindset to give Amore the opportunity he needs to prove himself.
