Bryan Danielson suffers busted surgical scar in devastating Continental Classic defeat

AEW’s Continental Classic tournament continued with two more matches in the Blue League on tonight’s (Dec. 9) episode of Collision.

Eddie Kingston vs. Claudio Castagnoli kicked off the broadcast in a match that went more than 17 minutes in length. It was damn close to a must-win for Eddie after already dropping his first two tourney matches. Claudio kicked Eddie’s ass for most of the match and knocked him loopy on more than one occasion. Yet Kingston somehow hung in there and rolled up Claudio to score his first three points in the Continental Classic.

The main event saw Bryan Danielson go one-on-one with Andrade in a match of undefeated wrestlers. Just like Claudio vs. Eddie, this bout almost went to a time limit draw.

The fight turned during the commercial break when Andrade ripped off Bryan’s protective eye patch and tossed it into the crowd. Bryan was bleeding from his surgical scar, and it only swelled up and got worse from there as Andrade targeted it with moves like this:

Bryan’s face was banged up altogether, with blood coming out of his nose too. Andrade was willing to do whatever it took to win, including this disgusting tactic where he shoved his finger right into Bryan’s eye socket:
