Ilja Dragunov Becomes #1 Contender for WWE NXT Title

Ilja Dragunov has once again earned the opportunity to challenge for the WWE NXT Title. On tonight’s episode of NXT, Dragunov emerged victorious in a match against Wes Lee, solidifying his position as the next contender for NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. The highly anticipated showdown between Dragunov and Hayes will headline the upcoming NXT No Mercy event.

This will mark the second time that Dragunov and Hayes face off in a singles match. Their first encounter took place at The Great American Bash on July 30, where Hayes managed to retain the title after a grueling 20-plus-minute main event that ended with a pinfall victory.

The NXT No Mercy Premium Live Event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 30 at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. The card for the event is already shaping up to be an exciting one:
