Ava, the daughter of legendary wrestler The Rock, is set to make her first-ever singles match appearance on next Tuesday’s WWE NXT Heatwave special. The highly anticipated event will be broadcast live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
Ava’s journey to this moment has been marked by a series of intriguing storylines and rivalries. The Creed Brothers, who won a “Losers Leave NXT” match against The Dyad a few weeks ago, have been persistently taunting The Schism. To further complicate matters, they have even disguised themselves as two of The Schism’s masked followers. This ongoing feud escalated on the latest episode of NXT, where interference and distractions from all three members of The Diamond Mine resulted in The Dyad falling short against the NXT Tag Team Champions, The Family.
In a recent promo, Ava directly challenged Ivy Nile to a match at Heatwave. WWE has now officially confirmed the match. Ava explained that she issued the challenge with the hope of luring out The Creed Brothers, stating that they will have no choice but to come to Nile’s rescue from the impending beating she has planned.
This upcoming match will be Ava’s first-ever singles bout. Since signing with WWE in February 2020, The Rock’s oldest daughter has only competed in four official matches. Her in-ring debut took place at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 1, where she teamed up with The Dyad and Joe Gacy in an eight-person loss to Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, Tyler Bate, and Thea Hail. Subsequently, The Schism suffered another defeat at a non-televised live event in Largo, FL, on April 14, when they faced off against Nile, The Creeds, and Boa. Ava’s most recent match occurred on June 23 at a non-televised NXT live event in Fort Pierce, FL, where she and Gacy were unable to secure a victory against Hail and Hudson. Nile, on the other hand, had her last singles match on the August 8 episode of NXT, where she suffered a loss to Kiana James due to a distraction from The Schism and interference from Ava.
