Breaking: AEW Parts Ways with Brian Pillman Jr.

Brian Pillman Jr. Departs AEW: Contract Expires and Not Renewed

In a surprising turn of events, Brian Pillman Jr. has officially left All Elite Wrestling (AEW). According to a report from PWInsider, Pillman’s contract with the company expired and was not renewed, resulting in his departure.

Pillman, who had previously made a name for himself on the independent circuit and with Major League Wrestling (MLW), made his debut with AEW at the Double or Nothing event in 2019 while still under contract with MLW. During MLW’s hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Pillman started working more frequently with AEW, often teaming up with Griff Garrison as The Varsity Blonds. It was on July 12, 2021, that Pillman signed a full-time deal with AEW. However, that agreement has now come to an end.

The talented wrestler has not competed since teaming with Brock Anderson in a loss to The Gunns during a non-televised AEW House Rules live event on May 13. His last appearance on AEW TV occurred during the Dark tapings on March 24, where he and Anderson emerged victorious against Cezar Bononi and Ryan Nemeth. Pillman’s last appearance on Rampage resulted in a loss to Swerve Strickland on February 3, and his final appearance on Dynamite took place during the House of The Dragon episode on August 17, 2022, where he and Garrison fell short against The Gunns.

While the circumstances surrounding Pillman’s departure from AEW remain unclear, fans and industry insiders are left wondering what the future holds for the talented young wrestler. Will he seek opportunities elsewhere in the wrestling world or take some time off to regroup and plan his next move? Only time will tell.
