Athena put in the work carrying ROH TV, and she is reaping the rewards. The Fallen Goddess confirmed that the ROH Women’s World Championship bout against Billie Starkz will be the main event of Final Battle, and she won’t let a broken nose stop her from delivering that PPV moment.
Athena is set to defend her title against Billie Starkz in a mentor/student storyline. During episode 41 of ROH TV, she broke the news that their match will be the main event of Final Battle.
But first, Athena made a statement of violence to the challenger. Starkz was in action against Dani Mo. The youngster made quick work of her opponent in an explosive performance showcasing increased aggression learned from her teacher. Starkz is still kind of goofy, however, the intensity was clear in her eyes.
After the match, Athena struck with a sneak attack. They brawled on the outside punching security to continue the melee. Athena gained the edge for a powerbomb on the floor. The champ loaded her minion into the ring to add insult to injury. Athena executed the Star 10 slam onto the title belt. That move is Starkz’s finisher.
Backstage, Athena chatted with reluctant bestie Lexy Nair. That’s when she dropped the bomb that the women’s match will be the PPV main event. Plus, she pulled strings for Lexy to be the special ring announcer. Celebration at TGI Friday’s! Lexy’s reaction is priceless.
Final Battle will be Athena’s second PPV main event in a row under the ROH banner. She previously made history tearing down the house against Willow Nightingale</
